Mobile Banking Privacy Policy

Adams County Bank’s Mobile Banking Privacy Policy applies to the users of the Adams County Bank Mobile Application that offers the ability to access some of our services and products via our mobile banking app.

Adams County Bank is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy in combination with other relevant privacy notices that we provide to you explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard information when you visit or use the mobile banking app.

This Privacy Policy is to inform users of Adams County Bank’s practices for user privacy and data collection via the mobile banking app “Adams County Bank” that is available on the Google Play Store from Android devices and the “Adams County Bank Mobile” app available on the Apple Store for iOS devices.

“Adams County Bank” and “Adams County Bank Mobile Banking App”, hereinafter referred to as the “ACB mobile banking app” or “App”, may request access to data located on your device when using certain products or features within the mobile banking app. This may include location, camera and biometrics data. If access is not allowed, the feature requiring that data may not be fully functional.

  • Location: Geolocation-based data is gathered to provide you with location-based messages, offers, and interactions. If enabled, your location data may be collected in the background while the app is closed or not in use. You may disable or adjust the Location Services at any time through your mobile device’s settings. Disabling Location Services will not prevent you from using the ACB mobile banking app.
  • Camera: To utilize the Check Deposit feature within the ACB mobile banking app, you will be required to allow access to the camera on your device. Declining access will prevent you from using the service. Adams County Bank will not collect or store any data associated with your camera.
  • Biometrics: Allows you to authenticate at login utilizing the store fingerprint or face ID on your device. Adams County Bank does not store biometric data in the ACB mobile banking app. Declining access will not prevent you from using the ACB mobile banking app.

Personal Information

  • Personal information might be requested from you in order for you to be able to register for and access online banking services.
  • When using the ACB mobile banking app there may be times when you are asked to provide information about you that is personally identifiable (“Personal Information”). This may include the following:
    • first, middle and last name
    • physical address (street, city, state, zip code)
    • mailing address (po box, city, state, zip code)
    • e-mail address
    • telephone number
    • social security number or tax id number
    • date of birth
    • mother’s maiden name

Information Collected

  • When using the ACB mobile banking app, we may capture the IP address of the device you use to connect to the online service, the type of operating system and browser you use, the parts of our online service you access, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about activity on a page or screen, access times and duration of access.
  • We will collect the financial and transaction information necessary to provide you with the services in the ACB mobile banking app, including account numbers, transaction and payment history.
  • We or our third-party partners may also use cookies, web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIF’s )or additional technologies, which are used to demonstrate that a webpage or e-mail was accessed/opened, that certain content was viewed/clicked or to collect and store other information about your visit to and use of our online services. In addition, we may later associate the usage and other information we collect online with personal information about you.
  • SMS/text messaging permits us to communicate with you via SMS/text. We may collect:
    • Your mobile phone number
    • your carrier’s name
    • the date & time
    • content of your messages
    • other information provided through your mobile device which we may use to open, administer and maintain your account (including to contact you regarding your account).

Your mobile carrier and other service providers may also collect data from your SMS/text usage, and their practices are governed by their own policies and procedures. We will store your information on our systems or those operated by our third-party vendor on our behalf.

Use of Information

We use the information discussed above in a number of ways, such as:

  • communicating with you
  • verifying your identity (such as when you access your account information)
  • preventing fraud and enhancing the security of your account or our online services
  • App functionality and personalization
  • responding to your request
  • processing transactions

Sharing Your Information

We will only share your Personal Information with necessary third -party providers as part of servicing your accounts or transactions.

  • When your account information is transmitted via our online services and the ACB mobile banking app it will be protected using encryption technology.
  • When using the ACB mobile banking app you will be asked to provide: user ID, password, and multi-factor authentication to identify you and to help safeguard against unauthorized access to your information.
  • You can help to maintain the security of your transactions by not sharing your user ID and password with anyone.
  • Adams County Bank will never request Personal Information via unsolicited e-mail.
  • Be cautious when clicking on links in e-mails or responding to e-mails you have received, particularly when the message is urgent or threatening. By doing so, you may unwittingly download viruses or spyware that may cause you to be redirected to a fraudulent service. If you are concerned that an e-mail you have received may not be from the Adams County Bank, please contact us.

Retention
Adams County Bank retains personally identifiable information as long as necessary to provide the products and services for which the information was collected, to process and maintain a record of transactions, and as long as necessary for legal process or to satisfy government retention requirements.

The ACB mobile banking app is not designed nor intended to be attractive to children under the age of 18 (“Minors”). The Adams County Bank does not knowingly collect or use personal information from or market to children under the age of 18 (“Minors”). We are not responsible for the data collection and use practices of non affiliated third-parties to which our website may link. Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy is subject to change and any changes to this policy will become effective when posted on the ACB mobile banking app. Your use of the ACB mobile banking app following these changes means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
